Uniben students protest over death of fellow students

Students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin City are protesting Tuesday along Benin-Lagos expressway over the killing of their two colleagues.

The victims were knocked down by a military patrol vehicle while they were crossing the 8-lane road outside the school’s main entrance on Saturday.

The students led by the President of the Student Union Government, Comrade Omorogbe, are demanding for a pedestrian bridge across the road, and a speed breaker on the 8-lane road to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.

While addressing the protesting student, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Francis Osagiede, assured them that the university authority would look into their demands as soon as possible.
