The Chief Imam of Lagos, Garuba Ibrahim Akinola died Sunday evening at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. He was 80.
According to reports Akinola had been on admission for an undisclosed ailment.
The late cleric will be buried on Monday according to Islamic rites.
Akintola once worked with the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc.
