Curtis Jackson, better known as rapper 50 Cent, has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, just days after he was ordered to pay $5 million in a lawsuit that he lost.
The court documents that were filed reveal that the 40-year-old rapper’s debts are primarily consumer debts and that he has assets and liabilities ranging from $10 million to $50 million,
Last week, 50 was ordered to pay $5 million to a woman who says he leaked her sex tape online. The video featured Lastonia Leviston, who was once in a relationship with his rap rival Rick Ross, though he wasn’t in the video. In the video that 50 posted online, he provided commentary while playing a character named Pimpin’ Curly.
