The 40-year-old new contract will see him keep the job until 2020 becoming the fifth player in the 1994 class of Eagles to handle the senior national team after Austin Eguavoen, Samson Siasia, Daniel Amokachi and the immediate past coach Stephen Keshi.
He has been tasked with drawing up a five-year development plan that will transform the identity and style of the national teams.
