Lionel Messi arrives Gabon to commission new Stadium

Lionel Messi is being guarded by security agents while arriving in Libreville the capital city of Gabon at the request of his former teammate Samuel Eto'o on Saturday July 18.

The 28-year-old Barcelona star is joined by 34-year-old former Barcelona teammate Deco, together they will lay the first stone of the future Port-Gentil stadium, which is expected to host Africa Cup of Nations games in 2017.
''I wish you a safe journey to my other country Gabon,'' the 34-year-old Cameroonian footballer said as he captioned the photo below of Messi and Deco on a plane. ''There, you will discover warm and welcoming people. Thank you for keeping your promise! I couldn't be there with you because my agenda didn’t allow for it, but enjoy your stay and as agreed, after Libreville it will be Yaoundé. See you soon!''
