At least 42 dead after collision with truck in southwest France

At least 42 people have been killed in a collision between a bus carrying pensioners on a day trip and a truck on a country in south-west France on Friday morning, local officials said Friday.

The collision happened at about 7.30am local time, close to the town of Puisseguin, about 40 miles east of Bordeaux, and is the deadliest bus accident in France since 1982.

The French president Francois Hollande said in a Tweet Friday he was "plunged into sadness by the tragedy".
