How Nigeria Will 'Break Up'' in 2015 - Victor Prince Dickson

How Nigeria Will 'Break Up'' in 2015 - Written by Victor Prince Dickson published on Linkedin.

When the news broke that there was a document circulating, vividly predicting the breakup of Nigeria along ethnic and religious divide, customary to our Nigerian fashion, many who did not have a clue of the content of the document either in whole or as an excerpt immediately went berserk and began raining down curses on the originators of the document.
However, recent events have indeed aligned to the prediction of the documents which was one postulation that was entirely based on social-science theories.

Let’s take a quick review of the premise; Boko Haram in the North-East, which is the most active and the most damaging at the moment, incessant Fulani herdsmen and farmers clashes in the North-Central, the massive empowerment of the militants in South-South, MASSOB in the South-East, O.P.C in the South-West. While Boko Haram may be the most active at the moment, it is not a secret that the other groups, who have remained largely calm at the moment, are just like sleeper cells waiting to be activated.
What’s more, the rock confidence of Nigerians in oil is beginning to fail; this portends danger across board, from low revenue for states to possible mass sack in the civil service, not to mention the withdrawal of major oil companies operating in Nigeria.
Failure in Governance across board has also cast a spell of uncertainty among citizens with very deep seated distrust amongst Nigerians. All these happenings against the backdrop of the proliferation of arms, and human and capital flight.
Above all, there is no one single leader today across the nation that can boast of the trust of Nigerians, even from the religious circle.

Except for the blind and naive, if we are to trustfully follow the premise of the predictions, all is indeed set for a break up, but here is my point of divergence.
While those who prepared the document where very right with their conditions and social-science prone premise, they were indeed wrong with the conclusion.

This is how Nigeria will break up.

When you plant a seed, after a while it breaks up the earth and springs up its tiny shoot. This is how Nigeria will breakup.
This new Nigeria indeed will break through the hard surface of corruption, ignorance, religion and ethnicity. She will breakup our collective naivety, docility and our over dependence on oil.

This breakup will not be about the government and governance; it will be about Entrepreneurship, Expertise, Knowledge, Service, Values and Industry. The breakup of Nigeria will be activated by Nigeria Dream Entrepreneurs.

When Nigeria breaks up, ignorance will not be celebrated any more, Nigeria will no longer be permanently high on the opium of religion. By this time, we will have re-invented the tenets of accountability and honour in public service.
Archive prone curriculum will be done away with, and then we will also have nurtured ideological Gate Keepers: those who understand the need to protect the ideology and sovereignty of Nigeria in terms of Values and Morality.

That is how Nigeria will BREAK UP.
