Ex-Chief of Army Staff, Minimah hands over to Tukur Buratai

Former Chief of Army staff, Lt General Kenneth Minimah handing over to his successor Major General Tukur Buratai, taking place at the Army Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday July 16.

The newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Tukur Buratai says he will be spending the Sallah holidays with Nigerian troops in Yobe State, revealing this to journalists shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Buhari at the presidential Villa in Abuja
''I don't have anything to say for now. I am just a few hours on the job. With time we will be talking some more,'' Buratai said. ''I am going to Damaturu to spend the Sallah with our troops there.''
President Muhammadu Buhari had fired all the Service Chiefs on Monday including the National Security Adviser. Their successors were subsequently named same day.
