Senate Minority Leader Godswill Akpabio took to Twitter to share a photo of himself in his unnamed hospital bed on Saturday night after he survived a car crash in Abuja earlier this week.
The immediate past Akwa Ibom governor, now senator who was reportedly flown to the UK for medical treatment, thanked president Buhari, Fmr Goodluck Jonathan, his colleagues and Nigerians for their support and prayers.
''Thank you Nigerians for your prayers,'' he said. ''Appreciate president Buhari, VP Osibajo, Senate President @bukolasaraki & others for their calls. I also thank former president Jonathan, members of our party, friends & loved ones for their calls & show of affection. God bless you. Though down but not out, I will rise again.''
According to reports, Akpabio’s decision in favour of the UK hospital generated criticism. People recalled that in May he opened a N30billion hospital in Uyo and told Nigerians it was a healthcare institution of world-class specialist standard with had sophisticated equipment.
