The 48-year-old British PM also visited a school in the Lebanese capital Beirut, which has received UK aid money to cope with the influx of Syrian pupils.
During the trip, the prime minister met some of the people who are due to be flown to the UK as part of the country’s commitment to accepting 20,000 Syrian refugees over the next five years.
''I'm at a refugee camp in Lebanon, hearing some heartbreaking stories,'' Cameron tweeted. ''British Aid is also funding Makahni Centres in Jordan - helping refugee children get an education.''
Cameron sits alongside a 15-year-old Barcelona fan whose leg has been amputated after a barrel bomb was dropped from a plane while he played football with friends in Syria.
''Malik lost his leg to a Syrian barrel bomb. British aid in Jordan is helping him get his life back together,'' he added. ''British Aid is also funding Makahni Centres in Jordan - helping refugee children get an education.''
According to BBC, Cameron has called on other EU countries to follow Britain's lead by funding refugee camps in Syria's neighbouring countries.
