Sheikha named Rashid after her elder brother who died in September from a heart attack.
She posted the first public pictures of the baby on Instagram with a short poem announcing his name, and explaining her inspiration behind the choice.
''After I lost the sight of my brother, I decided to name him after him, so his dearness may live and Rashid bin Mohammed might return to life,'' she wrote. ''Tell my brother that even if death came between us that the soul still beats with his name and he is not forgotten. Even if fate and destiny may not return my brother, his name can come back to life.''
Sheikha Latifa is married to the Crown Prince of Fujairah, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad.
Photo above showed the two grandfathers, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and the Ruler of Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed, holding their newborn grandson.
