Dead or Alive singer Pete Burns is dead!

Dead or Alive singer Pete Burns has passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest, his manager has confirmed in a statement on Twitter. He was 57.

 ''It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns of (Dead Or Alive) died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest,'' the statement read.

Burns, from Wirral, Merseyside, founded band Dead or Alive in 1980 but went on to feature in several reality television shows in later life.

His death comes just days before his band's compilation album Sophisticated Boom Box MMXVI was due to be released on October 28.
