Labour Party: 'Buhari has nothing to offer Nigeria'

National Chairman of the Labour Party, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam speaking on behalf of his party, believes the President ''has nothing to offer Nigeria'' following the list of his ministerial nominees submitted to the Nigerian Senate.

''For us in Labour Party, we do not see anything that resembles change as far as the ministerial team is concerned,'' Abdulsalam said on Tuesday shortly after the list was read out to the senate plenary by the Senate president Bukola Saraki. ''Imagine bringing someone who served in the government of the late Sarduana of Sokoto to serve as minister in 2015, Buhari has nothing to offer Nigeria. There is no promise of change at all, all these people are analogue persons who cannot bring about any change under the current dispensation.''

On Nigerian youth:

''It is also very unfortunate that Nigerian youth who make up the greater percentage of our population and who voted for Buhari massively were not given their due share in the ministerial nomination.''

On APC's promises to Nigerians:

''That is to say that the change that the APC and Buhari promised Nigerians is nothing but a fluke and fraudulent. If this was the list that Buhari kept to his chest for five months then be sure that the balance that makes up the 36 may never come out in good time.''

On corruption:

''What does Buhari mean when he brought all the PDP people into the much-taunted change administration? Most of the ministerial nominees are on the indicted list of the EFCC.''

On nomination:

''Buhari has succeeded in creating problems for in some states. For instance in Niger state where I come from, the governor is from Kotangora and the person he has nominated is also from Kotangora. In Pleatue, the governor Lalung and Dalung are from the same local government. In Oyo state, Barrister Shitu who has been rejected by all the APC people, he has included his name on this list. For us in Labour Party did not see anything like change here. Is it Audu Ogbe that is of change or who?''
