Lost Boys actor Brooke McCarter dies at 52

Brooke McCarter, best known for his role in The Lost Boys, died on Tuesday at the age of 52 after suffering from a genetic liver condition, McCarter's family said on Facebook.

''The McCarter family is heartbroken to share the news that Brooke McCarter passed away December 22, 2015 from the genetic liver condition alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AAT)," the statement read. He was 52. Brooke was our loving son, brother, father, cousin, nephew and friend. Funeral arrangements are still being finalized. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.''

According to McCarter's website, he left Hollywood in 1998 to pursue a career in the telecommunications industry.
