The attack came in wake of President Buhari assertion that the war on Boko Haram has been significantly won and gave assurances that everything possible would be done to keep the terrorists away from reclaimed villages.
Earlier reports said that suspected herdsmen carried out the attack but witnesses told the media that about 300 suspected terrorists carried out the attack.
They said that there was an exchange of gunfire between the Nigerian military and the attackers who were forced to retreat into the bushes.
After the raid six villages including Koh, Demsare, Tabongo, Fawure, Noyine and Ndikajam were totally razed by the terrorists.
