Replace Louis van Gaal with Jose Mourinho - Thierry Henry urges Manchester United

Former Arsenal striker wants former Chelsea boss Jose Mourihno to replace Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal because things are not working for the 64-year-old Dutchman.

''The club are crying out for success and Mourinho guarantees that, in spite of everything that happened at Chelsea this season,'' Henry wrote in his column for The Sun. ''He is still an amazing coach and United have got to do something because it is simply not working for Louis van Gaal. If Manchester City get Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone or Jorge Sampaoli go to Chelsea, which is possible this summer, United have to react. They can't just carry on as they are. Some fans want Van Gaal out immediately and they are the people who will ultimately decide his fate.''

United sit fifth in the Premier League, and are still in the FA Cup following the 3-1 win over Derby County, but the 38-year-old Frenchman believes there's much more to it than that.

The 54-year-old Portuguese manager was sacked in December last year after a disastrous defence of the Premier League title.
