Jefferson Airplane co-founder Kantner is dead

Paul Kantner, one of the co-founders of the band Jefferson Airplane, died on Thursday of multiple organ failure, his publicist told the San Francisco Chronicle. He was 74.

Jefferson Airplane, for which Paul played guitar, was prominent in the mid-1960s and they had such hit songs as ''Somebody to Love'' and ''White Rabbit.''
