Ighalo says he is not leaving Watford

Nigerian Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has declared that he will not leave Watford during the January transfer window despite the interest he is attracting from a plethora of European clubs as he wants to end the season achieving something with the side.

''I want to finish the season strongly with Watford and prove that we have a good bunch of players here,'' the 26-year-old Watford Forward said. ''When the focus is on a strong finish, transfer talk will not get to you. I haven’t really bothered myself about statistics because I’ve always had my feet on the ground and I never forget where I come from. I am just focused on getting better, doing things right on the pitch and being myself on the pitch.''

He is currently the second highest scorer in the English Premiership with 14 goals and Spanish giants Athletico Madrid and Serie A’s Roma are both reported to have enquired about the striker.
