President Barack Obama Congratulates Music Legend Bob Dylan On Nobel Prize Win

Bob Dylan won the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature on Thursday October 13 ''for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition'', becoming the first musician in the 115-year history of the Nobel to win the prize in literature.

The 75-year-old music legend will take home the eight million kronor ($906,000) prize sum.

"Congratulations to one of my favorite poets, Bob Dylan, on a well-deserved Nobel," tweeted President Barack Obama, who in 2012 presented the singer-songwriter with a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
