Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has opened up why he sold Manchester United record signing Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The 63-year-old Dutch football manager insists he is not happy to see the back of the 27-year-old Argentina international.
"He started very well, that's not the problem," Van Gaal said. "He had a very good start but he knows the answer better than I know but it happens and then there's only one solution. What he has done. I want more attackers with speed and creativity. Di Maria is one of those players. We have to look for that kind of player. Of course, they have to have the talent to cope with the English rhythm and that is difficult to find. Because that is mostly also why players are not succeeding in this competition, because of the rhythm of the game and the English culture is not the Latin culture, so that is also maybe a reason."
United spent a British record £59.7million to land Di Maria from Real Madrid last summer.
Di Maria completed his £44m move to PSG on thursday August 7.
Man United will face Tottenham 12:45 PM opening match on Saturday August 8.
